"L-lindir..."

You tugged at Lindir's sleeve. He looked at you and smiled softly, eyes full of love and care for his only sister. He cupped your face in his big hands, gently tilting your chin up. One hand caressed your cheek and the way he looked at you made you blush. You cast your head down to hide your feelings, but Lindir knew you too well.

"Sweet sister...what are you so afraid of?" He used your nickname.

Your face was burning red and you took his hands into yours. He rubbed your knuckles in an attempt to calm you down, which he succeeded in doing. You leaned into his touch as he hugged you, drawing circles onto your back and murmuring soothing words into your ears. You whimpered and hugged him closer to you.

Lindir made an 'oof' sound due to the sudden tightening around his chest and he laughed softly.

"Y-you are going to leave me," you said to him, head still buried in his chest.

"No, I am not. We will go to meet Lord Elrond for a while. He said he wanted to discuss something with me."

You whimper again and he held you close.

"B-but I am not needed there..."

"No, you go everywhere I go. I will not ever leave you. I promise you with my life."

He then put a hand over his chest, smiling down at you. You admitted to yourself long ago that your brother was a handsome ellon. The people here all love him, obsess over him, even. Though he hardly paid any attention to any of them. He would smile at them and walk away. All of his attention went to you. You are his number one priority, which you were thankful for, but it also made you feel guilty. He would never find his mate if he was always stuck with you.

"It is not good to make such promise to me, Lindir."

"Really," he wriggled his eyebrows to tease you.

You laughed and smacked his arm lightly. He chuckled and put an arm over your shoulder.

"Let us depart, sister."

"The Mirkwood royals are going to pay a visit due to our agreement of a tied alliance between Mirkwood and Rivendell. We are going to hold a feast in their honor," Elrond started the conversation.

"When will they be arriving?"

Elrond hesitated before he answered, "In two days."

"Two days?"

Lindir was as astonished as you were. Two days was a short time to prepare a big feast.

"Yes," Elrond nodded gravely towards Lindir.

You patted your brother's shoulder to soothe him. He coughed and you could see a tear at the corner of his eye. Being an important person in Rivendell, he happened to be the one who organized the feasts that would be held. Now, he only had two days to prepare a feast fit for the most troublesome elves in Middle Earth.

"All will be well, brother, I will help you."

"Th-thank you," he managed to breathe out.

"If that is all, my Lord, I will take my leave now."

Elrond just watched over you and Lindir as both of you walked out. He then chuckled and shook his head.

"Such twins. You do not see one without the other close by."

___________

The feast was a grand affair. White curtains with golden lace at the bottom hung down the dais. The feast tables all covered with a green, silk cloth. The silver cutlery glittering under the warm light, not a speck of dust sat on top of them. The food and wine were fresh and warm. The smells lingered in the air and made your stomach grumble.

"Are you hungry, sister?"

You startled and turned around to see your brother was standing behind you with a smile on his face. You forgot that he still accompanied you everywhere.

"I am."

"Come, we will get you some food."

"But the guests, they should taste it first," you tried to reason with him.

"They are nowhere near as important as you."

After you finished eating the cake that Lindir had gotten for you, you heard a horn sound from afar, signaling that the Mirkwood elves had arrived. You swallowed the bile in your throat and wrapped your arms around Lindir's. He smiles at you and nodded.

"It is time. Let us greets the guests"

You could see that the royals walked up the stairs. The first face you see is of the Elvenking Thranduil. His blond hair was shiny under the moonlight. His dark red robes hugged his body perfectly with a crown of berries and twigs on his head. He looked so...ethereal. Then you spotted his son, Prince Legolas. He looked so much like his father did. He wore a dark green tunic with a silver circlet rest on his head. The royals looked so mighty and fearsome, and you hid behind your brother more.

"Mae Govannen, King Thranduil, Prince Legolas. Welcome to Rivendell," Elrond greeted the royals.

The king only inclined his head and Legolas bowed toward Elrond. The King's gaze suddenly moved toward you and you cowered before it. Lindir shielded you from Thranduil's gaze and greeted the Elvenking coldly.

"Welcome to Rivendell."

His cold tone made you stiffen and you grabbed his sleeve.

Thranduil raised his brow but kept silent and keep moving. Legolas tried to hold back his laugh and it turned into a snort.

"Looks like someone doesn't like you, Ada."

"I wonder why."

He could still feel Lindir's cold gaze burning into the back of his head.

Music echoed through the palace, accompanying an elve's soft voice singing a song of peace.

"This feast is too much, Elrond," Spoke the Elvenking that suddenly appeared at the side of Lord Elrond. You looked at him and stayed behind Lindir.

"May I see the parchment, Elrond?"

"Yes, let's head to my study, then," Elrond suggested.

"No, I want to stay here. My son insists."

"I do?" Legolas looked puzzled but shut his mouth when his father glared at him.

"Lindir, can you get the parchment please?"

Lindir hesitated, worry for his sister evident in his eyes.

"Leave her to me. I will guard her with my life."

"Swear it."

"What?" Asked Elrond disbelief, but Lindir's face hardened.

"Swear it."

"Alright, I swear that I will take care (Y/N), no matter what may happen."

Lindir nod and walked away but stopped dead in his track when you pulled his hand.

"Lindir...." You mutter softly.

"Sister, Lord Elrond is here. He swears he will guard you. If he does not, his head may roll down the stairs."

"Do-don't be long. Please..."

"I won't...my sweet sister." Lindir planted a kiss on your forehead and walked away.

You stand by Elrond side and shifted on your foot.

"Is he her lover?" You heard the Elvenking speak to Elrond.

"No, they are siblings. Twins, in fact."

Suddenly Legolas interfered, "Twins? That is why they look the same! But...he seems angry with Ada."

"He does not like anyone trying to scare his sister. He will have your head roll. Even I do not dare to trigger that part of him," he chuckled.

"Well, he is quite over protective, but in a good way," was the only thing Legolas could muster up to say.

Suddenly a hand was shoved into your peripheral. You turned up your gaze and met with Thranduil's icy orbs. His stare burned you to the very core.

"Care for a dance?"

You nodded and took his hand. He was a king, you could not decline his wish.

"It-it w-would be my pleasure."

You and Thranduil twirled around at a slow, but steady, pace. He towered over you, but the two of you seem to match steps perfectly. You quietly peeked at him, looking at his porcelain skin and those magnificent eyes. Not to mention his beautiful eyebrows. Everything about the Elvenking made your heart beat fast.

A dainty crash stalled the two of you from your dance. Legolas looked at you and his father down to his shattered wine glass in muted horror. You blushed wildly and turned to leave but a hand grabbed you and pulled you back. Suddenly your lips were crashed against Thranduil's. His lips were soft and warm.

"What are you doing with my sister?!"

Lindir started yelling at Thranduil about touching you and that he doesn't have any right to take you away from him. You snuck away from them but bumped to Legolas.

He smirked at you and said, "Nice going there Nana."

"I am not your Nana. And you are older than me..."

You laugh softly and looked at the ellons who were fighting and yelling.

Well, you had to admit. You got the best brother in Arda.

"So, Thranduil, when is the wedding?" Elrond chimed in.

"ELROND!!" Both Thranduil and Lindir yelled.

Yup, the best one absolutely.

I got to say, sorry for the lack of Thranduil and Reader interaction. Thank you for reading! Have a nice and happy day!
